ANESTHESIA PREOP CLINIC (APO)
Pre-anesthesia evaluations are performed in the 30 days prior to surgery in order to make sure each patient is safe for undergoing anesthesia. Highly experienced nurse practitioners and anesthetists will review your medical and surgical history to be certain you are in the best shape possible for your procedure. While you will have an appointment here, this clinic also has an open walk-in policy to ensure veterans are accommodated regardless of schedule.
ANESTHESIOLOGY
An anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist will choose the right medications and methods for pain control and anesthesia for your procedure. This may be general anesthesia with a breathing tube or maks, a nerve or spinal cord block, or a combination of the two. They will carefully monitor you throughout the procedure and in recovery to ensure your safety and comfort.
